CODE OF ETHICS

I undertake to meet all of the following ethics as stated :

  1. Provide my clients with exceptional service

  2. Provide a safe, well maintained and good quality instrument and equipment.

  3. Provide my clients with full details of prices and services at the time of booking.

  4. Announce clearly any changes in fees or services if they occur.

  5. When unavailable for booking, assist potential clients to find other suitable arrangements.

ENGAGEMENT POLICY

Client Information Provision

The following information shall be required from the client during the consultation and negotiation process with Niina. It will then be stated in a Confirmation Letter of Agreement from Niina.

  • Date of performance - Type of event - event description

  • Client's name - address - phone number - email

  • Contact person - phone - email

  • Event location - address - directions

  • Arrival time - start time - duration

  • Estimated number of guests 

  • Whether it is an indoor or outdoor event - outdoor cover

  • Whether you wish for an acoustic (with amplification) or  amplified performance.

  • Additional artist accommodation where required provided by Niina/Client

ARTIST & CLIENT PROVISIONS

  1. Performance - Niina will perform, dress and present in a professional manner and will provide harp, a chair (if a seated performance is requested) and a battery/mains operated amplification system (if requested). Niina shall at all times have control over the manner, means and details of a performance.

  2. Performance Time - Niina's chargeable performance time shall be deemed to be from the agreed performance start to finish time. She shall endeavour to be ready to perform fifteen minutes prior to the agreed harp performance start time, in the event that the harp performance is required earlier by mutual agreement with the Client. Niina reserves the right to arrive at the venue at the time she deems necessary for set-up prior to the performance.

  3. Performance Rest Breaks – For agreed performance times greater than one hour in duration, Niina shall take a rest break of ten minutes away from the harp within every full hour of harp performance. The rest break shall increase to 15 minutes in duration within the fourth hour and subsequent hours of harp performance. For a Wedding ceremony, Niina shall delay the rest break until after the ceremony's completion.

  4. Additional performance time for overtime events, unless by prior expressed agreement by both parties, is at the discretion of Niina and is subject to the Niina's commitments elsewhere. A fee for additional playing time or rehearsals will be applied should both Niina and the Client mutually agree to such extensions of this performance time.

  5. A 50% non-refundable deposit shall be paid by the Client at the time of booking to ensure commitment to the arrangement and to hold the time for the date. Should there be a change in the date or a cancellation made by the Client, Niina holds the right to retain the paid deposit.

  6. Space and Lighting Requirements - The Client must provide a safe playing location with sufficient ambient light. Additional space is necessary for amplification as required. 

  7. Music Requests - Niina reserves the right to accept music requests but no additional changes to the musical requests will be considered within 14 days of the event. Musical requests or accompaniment for other musicians will not be accepted during the event unless otherwise mutually agreed prior to the engagement.

  8. Outdoor Performance - Niina shall not play nor expose her instrument or sound equipment outdoors in inclement weather or in direct sunlight and under no circumstance shall the instrument get wet. These environmental factors damage the instruments and sound equipment. The Client shall provide a covered solid clean level area if the event is to be held outside.

  9. Set-up Time - A fee for additional wait time prior to a performance is applicable if the Client requires Niina's presence earlier than is deemed necessary by Niina for equipment set-up and site preparation. Niina does not charge for equipment set-up and site preparation as deemed necessary.

  10. If Unable to Perform - In the event that Niina is unable to perform due to illness, accident, inclement weather or any other legitimate condition(s) beyond the control of Niina, the deposit and any other payment by the Client for this engagement shall be refunded. Full refund shall be the complete extent of liability. Niina shall make reasonable efforts to provide the Client with an introduction to a substitute musician.
